We were all relaxing 

After dinner with the family

Sitting on the sofa

My grandson, next to me

I decided that this was the moment

The Classic Grandfather Gag

The song is a true story. I had been thinking about writing a rock ballad for the album. The thought of the classic grandfather gag of ‘pull my finger’ but let it slip by me. I forgot about it. Then during a family conference, I mentioned the album concept I was working on, and Donna’s son, James, said, “You have to write a song about ‘pull my finger.'” Well, then, it was set! I had to write it! Memories of my grandfather, who was a bit of a prankster, flooded back to me as I recalled the first time he ‘pulled’ that gag on me. A flatulent gag steeped in tradition.
