Prelude to the End

Posted on January 10, 2022January 17, 2022

*********************************************

It’s the end of Eternity

The passing of Time

Most of the seasons

Have finished their rhyme

Mornings of glory

Visions of Saints

Have fallen from the canvas

of Artist’s paints

Most of the seasons

Have finished their rhyme

It’s the end of Eternity

The passing of Time

Further than winter

Are the shadows of doom

They cover the centuries

With beckoning gloom

Most of the seasons

Have finished their rhyme

It’s the end of Eternity

The passing of Time

Through the vast portals

Come the wings of thought

The future is alive

for those it caught

Brightness and Sun

And the intensity of speed

Bring eternity alive

For those to be freed

Life will laugh

When free from sin

But for some

It’s the Prelude to the End

© 1992 James Richards/Lance Harrison

I was really happy an old friend, James Richards, found me on Facebook. We chatted back and forth about what we’ve been up to. Then he brought up a song we had written and played together for a school function, he even had the old printed program with the words. Neither of us could remember the melody but he had two chords. I told him I would like to re-write the music and record it. He thought it was a great idea… and so did I!
