Lance and Donna

Author: Lance Harrison

I am a "Life Artist". I create music, art, theatre, drama, and comedy in my daily existence. I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people on this planet! My dreams come to fruition regularly. There is a certain freedom in my basic anonymity yet I am known by many. I currently live with my wife and partner, Donna, on an island in the middle of nowhere in a country few even think about.

February 8, 2022 We were living in a small town. This town had a little community orchestra with violins, horns, electric guitars, bass, and all kinds of fun things. They had just built a new community center, very nice. The man that helped build it was a friend of ours and so just before the…

Pulling a Leg

February 13, 2022 I’m in a crowd of people waiting for something. People entertaining each other as we wait. One fellow does the “coin disappear“ trick.  I say, “Nicely done! Good French drop! I couldn’t see thing!”  One guy turns to me and asks, “Aren’t you a famous hacky sack player?”  “No, I can play…

(3) Ashwood, part 3

Other Regular Characters at the house Annie Laurie One of Donna’s best friends, Annie Laurie, was an excellent chef. She could decern every ingredient, and the proportions of any culinary dish, by tasting a small spoonful. Her skills were the stuff of legends and were put to good use as the two of them started…

The Basement We all had a great time together In the basement making tie-dyes and other art projects including a huge, psychedelic fluorescent mural on a large canvas. We also had free-form musical jams with whoever cared to join in. One Thanksgiving the late great Irving Kane joined us on his trombone! At one point…

I’m sick of being lied to Mistreated and abused I’ve kept my mouth shut And lived on hopes & prayers But the answer always seems You can’t just live on dreams Sometimes you have to  Clean up these affairs Well, I trusted in you once I guess I was just a dunce To believe that…

I Know Every Train

Posted on February 3, 2022March 6, 2022

**************************************************** I know every train  that passes this way Where they’re goin’  how long the delays Where to run  and where to hide so the bulls don’t catch me when I catch a ride, yeah. I’ve got a little shack,  off that cold steel track A place to sleep  an’ a fire out the back…

Only Memories

Posted on February 2, 2022January 31, 2023

Somehow time stole you away but in the echos  of today I still feel you  pressing ever close  close to me In the faded evening light I still feel you  holding me tight but it’s only only memories I sit around and tell myself that you never really cared But the past keeps reminding me…
