Our house is a very open house, very basic but comfy in this jungle climate. The ceiling is open all the way to the roof tiles and the windows (no screens) and doors are generally open creating a very, well, open atmosphere. We’ve had visitors of all sorts. Wildlife; frogs, butterflies, geckos, skinks, and several species of insects have been visiting for varying lengths of time.
I once had a gecko high dive off the rafters into my glass of water. I’d give him a 10. Once, as Donna reached up to take the shower sprayer, she found a frog had taken up residence on the top of the sprayer. We’ve found several frogs in strange places. Chasing them out is always an interesting time as they spring here and there to avoid capture. Getting to hop in your preferred direction becomes a sporting event. When you frighten a frog, they piss. It is a jungle out here.
So, most recently (like a few minutes ago) Donna was laying on the bed quietly reading a book on the iPad when a bird came darting through the window, missing Donna’s face by inches, corrected itself, and flew out the doors opposite and away. She let out a little scream of surprise, which I think we all would have. Then she settled back into the book and finished the chapter. Normal life here.
